With a population of 172,200, the West London borough of Hammersmith and Fuhlam is the 4th smallest borough in London. Nonetheless it offers everything that any multicultural and well developed borough has to offer. more
Average property prices in the Hammersmith & Fuhlam borough stand at £577,465. This is above the average London price, but considering the prime location and quality housing is relatively well priced. A popular area for families is the residential Brackenbury Villiage, which offers a variety of good quality schools nearby and plenty of green space in the nearby Ravenscourt Park.
The borough is primarily divided into three main areas. Hammersmith, Sheperds Bush and Fuhlam. Hammersmith is a busy urban area and offers plenty of opportunities for shopping and more relaxing activities. The Kings high Street has an array of various high street brands and pubs on offer. The Kings Mall and Broadway are both shopping centers situated on the high street. Other than shopping, Hammersmith also lies on the river Thames and offers some of the best waterside pubs in the capital. Furthermore Hammersmith is home to the Hammersmith Apollo which hosts some of the most prestigious comedy and rock concerts in the capital.
The area of Fuhlam boarders the prestigious and highly expensive Chelsea borough and is becoming one of the most expensive areas in London. Its close proximity to the city centre and availability of good quality housing has made it recently particularly popular.
Sheperds bush has traditionally been the more deprived area of Hammersmith & Fuhlam, but a recent regeneration project and construction of the UKs largest shopping centre Westfields, has transformed the area and made property prices spiral.
