The North East London borough of Redbridge with a population of 257,600 is a very suburban residential area which offers a variety of commercial and retail attractions. The borough name comes unusually from a bridge, which formerly crossed the River Roding and was made from red bricks. This was uncommon, for most bridges were made from white stones. The bridge was demolished in 1921 but the name of it keeps living on in the wonderful emerald Redbridge borough. more
